The annual OBSR Honours for Excellence in Investment Dinner is an exclusive networking forum for the cream of the retail fund industry, any profits from which will go to charity. Old Broad Street Research created this event in the belief there exists a real appetite for an entertaining and informative evening that is designed to appeal to senior investment professionals and allows them to interact with their peers. In putting together the dinner, the aim was to not to create just another awards ceremony but to build a platform for celebrating excellence in a smaller, more intimate setting.

The first OBSR Honours for Excellence in Investment Dinner took place at The Dorchester, Park Lane, London on 17 September 2008 and was attended by more than 350 guests. As well as revealing the winners of the Honours for Outstanding Investor, New Talent, Investment House and Contributor to the Industry, the evening featured speeches from two giants in their respective fields of investment and international diplomacy – Anthony Bolton, president, investments, Fidelity International, and former British ambassador to the United States, Sir Christopher Meyer KCMG.
